Weddings have been a central part of the Corona Virus conversation in Australia from the very start. With brides having to make the heart breaking decision to postpone their weddings or dramatically descale the size of what was meant to be their fairytale day. This was was the devastating reality for Tanya and Karan.
With COVID19 preventing international travel, Tanya and Karan made the difficult decision to go ahead with their wedding despite the fact that their friends and family in India would be unable to attend.
This loved up couple begun seeing each other back in 2016, when they met through a mutual friend. It wasn't the first time they'd met. Tanya and Karan had been doing to same bachelors degree for 3 years but had never spoken more than the general classroom chit chat. It was this encounter during their last year of their degree in 2016, that would change their lives forever. They quickly realised they enjoyed each others company and began discovering new bars and restaurants around town. As they say, the rest is history.
On the 16th of February, 2021 Tanya and Karan tied the knot in front of 15 of their nearest and dearest. 5 years after that fateful day back in 2016, cementing their love for each other. It wasn't the day they had dreamt of, or planned for but it was perfect nonetheless. Tanya spoke fondly of the day, saying "What I thought would feel very sad turned out to be actually quite the opposite. We were all able to have fun and create memories together. But most importantly, watching our friends trying to take care of every little thing and doing their best to get both Karan and me at ease was an amazing feel. Everyone took charge without us asking anyone to do anything and it made us feel very grateful."
